报告人简介:
Dr. Weidong Yao received the physics training in his B.S. and Master education at Tsinghua University in 1984-1991. He finished his Ph.D. study in Neuroscience in University of Iowa in 1998 and postdoctoral training in Duke University in 1998-2004. Now he is an associate professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Before his current position at SUNY, he had work as assistant professor in New England Primate Research Center at Harvard Medical School for nearly 10 years (see the attached his bio-sketch for more details). Dr. Yao’s research has focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying synapse modulation and plasticity associated with psychiatric and neurological disorders. His lab has made important contributions in fields of dendritic spine dopamine signaling, dopaminergic tuning of synaptic plasticity in the prefrontal cortex circuits, with publishing research papers in high-impact journals, such as
Neuron,
PNAS, and
J Neurosci, among others.
