Christian Beaulieu教授是国际知名的弥散磁共振影像专家,自1990年开始从事该领域研究,在早期通过不同的神经系统离体模型,系统解析了脑内水分子弥散异向性的微观机制,具有广泛的国际影响,相关综述文章(单作者) google scholar引用已超3000次。现阶段,Beaulieu教授的研究主要集中在弥散磁共振成像新技术的研发与应用,包括脑白质在正常发育、正常老化、以及不同神经精神疾病中(如脑卒中、癫痫、胎儿酒精谱系症、多发硬化等)的变化,目前发表SCI论文百余篇,google scholar总引用14000余次。获Alberta创新科学家、加拿大科研讲席教授等荣誉。
Abstract: Despite severe behavioural and cognitive deficits, children and adolescents with prenatal alcohol exposure who are diagnosed with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) usually have unremarkable or non-specific findings on conventional clinical MRI. Quantitative imaging with new advanced methods has led to insights on brain regions that are susceptible to injury from alcohol exposure in utero. This talk will provide an overview of some of our recent quantitative MRI studies in FASD assessing regional brain volumes, cortical thickness, and diffusion tensor imaging of white matter tracts and their links to cognitive performance.
