简介

        本实验室致力于研究认知功能的神经机制。通过使用视觉、眼动和手动系统作为行为模型,研究认知功能如何对行为(如视觉感知、眼睛运动和手部运动)和神经活动产生影响。目前,我们的主要工作集中于研究空间感知和空间注意力的神经机制。我们把心理物理、脑成像、单神经元记录和计算模型等方法相结合,以人类和其他高级灵长类动物为对象,来研究认知和脑之间的关系。

视觉稳定性

        通常,我们的眼睛每秒钟要做3-5次快速眼动(双眼在同一方向上的快速、同步转动)。快速眼动的结果是,静止物体在视网膜上的投射位置发生移动。然而,尽管眼睛经常做快速眼动,我们仍然感觉看到的外部环境是连续而稳定的。显然,在大脑里一定存在某些视网膜以外的信号(例如动眼指令的备份Corollary Discharge)用来补偿快速眼动所造成的视网膜图像移动。然而,视觉稳定性的神经机制依旧是一个悬而未解的问题。我们的研究方向之一即是探索视觉稳定性背后的神经机制。

注意调节机制

        人们很早就已经知道注意力能够显著缩短行为反应的反应时间。经典观点认为,注意力通过促进感觉-运动转导过程来缩短反应时间。最近,我们发现,通过在不同神经通路中进行感觉-运动转导的路径选择,隐秘注意(covert attention)可以缩短快速眼动的反应时间。但是,注意力路径选择功能的神经基础还不为人所知。我们正在研究注意力如何对产生快速眼动的视觉-运动转导过程造成影响。
