  • The Brain Imaging Center at Beijing Normal University, a support facility for the State Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning, is a brain imaging data acquisition center, a research and development center of magnetic resonance technology, as well as a talent training center, equipped with a Siemens MAGNETOM Trio, a TIM System. The MAGNETOM Trio at the center is an advanced high field (3 Tesla) magnetic resonance imager. To guarantee image quality, the center uses strict imaging indicators and monitoring processes. For indicators, the center specifies the imaging quality standards developed by the American College of Radiology (ACR) as the minimum requirement and combines that with the imaging quality standards of the MRI center of Massachusetts General Hospital affiliated to Harvard University, a leading institution in the field of magnetic resonance. The center has established a quality control schedule with daily, monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly, and yearly periods that is published to all researchers on a regular basis. With the rapid development of magnetic resonance technology, in order to ensure that the imaging technology of the center is always at the forefront, the center has established a close working relationship with eminent brain imaging centers, such as the MGH NMR Center (Harvard University) and the Center for Functional MRI of the Brain (Oxford University). At the same time, this center is a Siemens’ core competence partner, which ensures that it has access to the manufacturers’ newest scan sequence and software package (Work In Progress, WIP).
